‘A’ Division Rugby Finals 08

Great weather awaited the highly anticipated match. Was told after the match that there was a heavy downpour at the Padang in the afternoon. Thank God for good weather!

I was rather excited; more so because it’s my first time using SLR to take pictures of sports events. I was taking for fun by the way. I did feel rather dwarfed by all the long lenses and professional photographers surrounding me, but there was this sense of thrill in me like; hey I am a part of these enthusiasts!

Actually I was from St Andrews Junior College, the opposing team. I should be supporting them right? But I choose to pledge my allegiance to AC. ACS is a Methodist School. Guess my Methodist root is stronger Another reason also because John, one of the youths from my youth group is playing and I am supporting him too.

I have witnessed and heard how this group of guys battled hard to win the championships but without avail. These 3 years, they have been let down by poor refereeing decisions so I feel for them more.

John is the one competing for the ball. He received a “Best Forward” award from his coach later. Am happy for him, yeah!

ACS(I) WINS! 21-8!

I rejoice with them. It was a well-deserved win. They have fought hard all these years without giving up and today they have reaped the fruit of their labour. Actually I don’t know any of them except John. I also don’t really know much about the game. But I realise I enjoy watching ball games like rugby, soccer or basketball; to see the fine display of team spirit and teamwork and eventually scoring a goal moves me. I think I have an affinity towards unity of all forms.
