Amazed

Today I went to a Good Friday service with much solemnity and silence. However I was taken aback that people around me were greeting one another with much jollity and cheer. It irritated me. First, it distracted my meditative time with God. Secondly, I felt their behavior was incongruous with the mood of the service. Jesus was going to die…hello!
In the process of sharing my upsets with God, I was somehow brought to the time of Jesus’ trial and crucifixion. Some people were also minding their own business and not understanding the significance of this momentous event. But yet, Jesus chose to die for all; for the people then and people now. And He reminded me He died for me too, even when there are times I did not understand the depth of His love for me. I am not much better than the people I am upset about.
I was silenced at His unending and unconditional love. Amazing grace!

when you write it out its looks so different from the way you describe it to me. I prefer the written form. great writing, good food for thought. thanks for sharing.~laiwah
